Rode to Hell

We ended up cutting off the heads and tails of this route. My wahoo was screaming at me, “you’re off course.” Ok, great. What do you want me to do? I just kept riding until we got “on course.” And once we did, Dan and I were off to the races.

This was a great route. Mostly gravel, on well maintained roads. There were only a few spots where we had to ride on the shoulder or cross a 55 mph section. With not many cars throughout the day, we weren’t too worried. Just sprint.

I was feeling it by the end, even though I had ridden longer rides this season. It’s the gravel. While it was smooth and fast, it still takes it out of you.

This is going to be a beautiful ride in early October for the event. The trees will be turning and the air will be crisp. I hope it’s as fast for the race as it was for us.
