Canadian Wildfire Smoke
The smoke blanketed Madison for two days, and returned after a short hiatus over the weekend. It was advised to wear a mask if you were outdoors for an extended period of time.
These fires sparked north and east of camp in Ontario, and the wind has pushed the smoke south, covering the majority of the upper Midwest and East Coast. With the annual fishing trip on the horizon, I made a run for last minute supplies. Driving from the west side to Sun Prairie, I stopped to take photos in Maple Bluff. The air smelled and tasted like a barbecue. It was midday when I took these photos. Visibility was less than a half mile.
It’s been a dry winter for much of the western US and Canada creating a tinderbox for fire season. Hopefully these fires are contained by the time we make the trip North.
