Rather than taking Route 14 and connecting with Route 60 in Sauk City, I went North on Route 113 out of Madison to Lodi, and drove 60 West to Spring Green. Route 60 is also known as the Lower Wisconsin River Road because it follows the Wisconsin River to the Mississippi. It winds through the valley and farmland. Once in Spring Green I turned South on Route 23 towards Dodgeville, passing Taliesin and House On The Rock. Finally, I turned East on Route 18, exiting in Mt. Horeb, and eventually connecting with Mineral Point Road In Cross Plains which took me home. A hundred plus mile loop.
Today was a scout trip. For the next trip I will connect with Route 60 in Spring Green and continue west to Prairie du Chien on the Mississippi. The hope is that the road has more to offer the further West I drive. This afternoon was relaxing as I scouted Route 60.
