The Chicago Cubs needed a win to secure the homefield advantage for the Wild Card series against the San Diego Padres.

Michael Busch led off the game with a solo homerun and the Cubs never looked back. He has had the Cardinals number all season. He finished the day a single short of the cycle, and drove in 5 of the Cubs 7 runs. With 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th Marmol, the Cardinals manager intentionally walked Busch. He never got a chance to swing for the cycle. It’s the right baseball move, but the boos could be heard in Wisconsin.

Seiya Suzuki and PCA both added solo shots late in the game. With a 3 run lead in the 9th, Keller loaded the bases and went 3-0 on Church before striking him out to secure homefield throughout the Wild Card.
